# Thelema Solo, which tank to fit and how to set it up

> Lost Vape Thelema Solo, the tank to pair with it, diameter, the 0.15 ohm floor, the 100 W ceiling, coil by coil settings and the UK 2 ml rule.

The Lost Vape **Thelema Solo** is often sold as a kit, with a tank picked to match it. Sooner or later, though, that tank needs a successor. One that is too wide overhangs the top plate, a coil rated too low simply will not fire, and a misread wattage range scorches the cotton within a few puffs. Retail listings describe the mod in detail but rarely say what it will accept on top. This guide starts from its figures to choose and set up the right tank.

## Which tank to fit on the Thelema Solo

The **Thelema Solo** takes any 510 thread tank whose coil sits between 0.15 and 5 ohms and whose wattage range stays below 100 W. For a flush fit, aim for a 26 mm diameter, 28 mm at most. The most natural match is a sub-ohm tank for direct lung vaping, as in its kits, but a mouth to lung tank works too.

Each version of the kit ships with its own tank. The original kit paired the mod with the UB Pro Pod Tank, while other kits, including some sold in the UK, come with the Centaurus Sub Ohm tank and UB Max coils. Neither is compulsory. What matters is what the chipset and the top plate will tolerate.

## Three limits the Thelema Solo sets for any tank

A tank is judged on three measurements against this mod, namely its width, its coil resistance and the wattage that coil asks for. The table below sets out the figures from Lost Vape's official product page that matter for that choice.

| Manufacturer figure | Value |
|---|---|
| Dimensions | 39 x 28.5 x 97.5 mm |
| Output | 5 to 100 W |
| Coil resistance | 0.15 to 5.0 ohms |
| Output voltage | 0.7 to 8 V |
| Current range | 1 to 35 A |
| Temperature control | 100 to 315 °C |
| Supported wire | nickel, titanium, SS316, SS904, Kanthal |

### Diameter, between 26 and 28 mm

The table gives no maximum tank diameter. Some retail listings quote 26 mm, while two published reviews say 28 mm. The gap comes down to the measurement that really counts, the thickness of the mod, which is 28.5 mm. A 26 mm tank leaves a slight margin at the sides, and a 28 mm one sits almost level with the casing.

Anything wider still screws onto the 510 pin, but it overhangs the edge. That is a matter of looks and balance in the hand, not of function.

### Resistance, never below 0.15 ohm

The 0.15 ohm floor rules out the very lowest coils of some cloud tanks. Mesh coils at 0.15, 0.2 or 0.3 ohm fit without trouble, as do mouth to lung coils above 1 ohm. At the top end, the 5 ohm ceiling leaves plenty of headroom above them.

That floor has an electrical logic. At 100 W on 0.15 ohm, the coil draws about 25.8 A, a simple calculation (the square root of wattage divided by resistance), which stays inside the current range in the table.

### Wattage, 100 W at most

A coil rated up to 110 or 120 W will still run on this mod, just never at the top of its range. For a sub-ohm tank, check that the recommended setting for your coil sits below 100 W.

## Setting up the Thelema Solo for your coil

The Thelema Solo's Quest 2.0 chipset offers five modes, but two are enough for a tank running ready-made coils. The right setting always starts from the range printed on the coil itself, never from a figure remembered for another model.

### Wattage mode for ready-made coils

Variable wattage suits every ready-made coil, Kanthal or mesh. Start at the bottom of the stated range, then go up in steps of 2 or 3 W until the vapour is warm with no burnt taste. The coils supplied with the two tanks paired with this mod make a useful reference.

| Coil | Resistance | Stated range |
|---|---|---|
| UB Pro P1 (UB Pro Pod Tank) | 0.15 ohm | 70 to 90 W |
| UB Pro P3 (UB Pro Pod Tank) | 0.3 ohm | 60 to 70 W |
| UB Max X1 (Centaurus Sub Ohm) | 0.15 ohm | 80 to 100 W |
| UB Max X3 (Centaurus Sub Ohm) | 0.3 ohm | 40 to 60 W |

Two coils of the same resistance do not always share a range. A 0.3 ohm UB Pro starts at 60 W, a 0.3 ohm UB Max at 40 W. The link between ohms, watts and the feel of the draw is covered in our guide to [vape coil ohms and watts](/uk/vape-coil-ohms-and-watts/).

### Temperature control, for some wires only

TC mode only works with a coil made of nickel, titanium or SS316 or SS904 stainless steel. The chipset reads the change in the wire's resistance to cap its temperature, which Kanthal does not allow. With a Kanthal coil, stay in wattage mode, even though the mod lists it among its wires.

Bypass, variable voltage and the custom power curve (VPC) mostly appeal to people building their own coils. With an ordinary tank they add nothing that wattage mode does not already do.

## Direct lung or mouth to lung on the Thelema Solo

With 100 W on tap and a 0.15 ohm floor, the mod is built first for direct lung vaping, where a large volume of air goes straight to the lungs. Its kits follow that logic, with sub-ohm tanks whose coils run between 40 and 100 W.

A tighter mouth to lung draw, closer to a cigarette, is still possible. A coil of 1 ohm or more runs at low wattage, within the range printed on its base, and the mod goes down to 5 W. Its size and 150 g weight simply make the set-up less balanced with a small MTL tank than with a 26 mm sub-ohm tank. Our guide to [MTL and DTL vaping](/uk/mtl-and-dtl-vaping/) helps you decide between the two styles.

## Tank capacity, the UK 2 ml rule

Several kits sold with the mod list a 5 ml tank in their name. In the UK, refillable tanks are limited to 2 ml, and nicotine e-liquid is capped at 20 mg/ml in bottles of 10 ml at most.

Before buying a tank for the **Thelema Solo**, or a replacement glass, check the capacity stated by the retailer. Only a 2 ml tank fits the UK rules, and a capacity read on an overseas listing says nothing about the version sold in the UK.

## FAQ

These five answers cover points that come up often about the mod itself.

### Does the Thelema Solo take a rebuildable atomiser?
Yes. The 510 plate also takes rebuildable atomisers, and an RBA deck exists for the UB Pro Pod Tank, rated for builds from 0.15 to 3.0 ohms.

### Which battery goes in the mod?
A 21700 cell, or an 18650 using the adapter supplied in the box. No battery is included. Pick a cell whose manufacturer datasheet gives a discharge rating suited to the wattage you plan to use.

### Can the battery be charged through the USB-C port?
Yes, the mod has a USB-C port. An external charger made for the cell's format is still the better option for the life of the battery.

### Can it remember settings for several tanks?
Yes. The chipset stores three presets, so switching from a sub-ohm tank to a mouth to lung tank does not mean starting from scratch.

### Is the Thelema Solo a good first device?
It is not the one we would suggest. A removable battery to manage and five vaping modes assume some experience, and a simpler kit with a built-in battery makes the first steps easier.

## Thelema Solo and your tank, the key points

Three checks are enough before screwing on a new tank. Its diameter should be 26 mm, 28 mm at most, for a flush fit. Its coil must sit between 0.15 and 5 ohms. A wattage range under 100 W, set from the bottom up, completes the list.

Well matched, the **Thelema Solo** takes a sub-ohm tank as readily as a mouth to lung one. The same method works for any mod, starting from what the mod and the coil state before looking at what the kit photo shows.
